Every story told answers for someone at least one of life's biggest questions. I chose to become a visual storyteller for this very reason.
I graduated with a BA in Film at the School of Visual Arts and as a film school attendee, one must wear many hats throughout your academic years. From concept illustration to set design, script writing to script supervision, and from filming to the final edit, I have seen through every lens on a film production.
Among the task force of filmmaking, editing is commonly seen as the job for the introverted, however I bind to the job for its sense of expression and collaboration; communicating with the director and merging our ideas to produce something true.
I have been a charity fundraiser for organizations such as ASPCA and The Humane Society. Oddly enough, there is a common thread between film editing and pitching to a crowd on why their donation matters. Both duties are rooted in facilitating an exchange; a message shared and a feeling evoked. What makes me a good film editor and charity fundraiser, is my ability to affectively communicate a message that needs to be heard, in a way that evokes a response.
